Cased .25 Stevens Rimfire (Obsolete Calibre) Single-Shot derringer type pistol Circa 1864

Description Cased .25 Stevens Rimfire (Obsolete Calibre) Single-Shot derringer type pistol., Circa 1864. Barrel Hexagonal at the breach going to round halfway towards the muzzle.  The barrel, trigger and hammer to a dark grey finish  (the front blade sight is absent – deliberately removed for a faster draw from a holster?).  The top stamped “J. STEVENS  A & T CO.   CHICOREE FALLS MASS  USA”.  The frame of chromed steel, with some loss of chrome (approx. 10%).  The two-piece wooden grips complete and in good condition.  The action is crisp and working well.  The wooden box is of later construction to house this derringer type pistol. The pistol with some knocks and age wear commensurate with age and in good overall condition.
