Royal Visit to India Medal 1911-12, for King George V & Queen Mary’s visit to India, a scarce and unusual silver medal. Little is known about this medal, but it is believed that it was given as a token of appreciation by the Royal Family to sailors from the Special Service Squadron who took them to India. A similar medal is more commonly seen for the earlier visit of the King, at the time Prince of Wales during 1905-6.
