The American Gold Eagle is an official bullion coin of the United States. One year after the Gold Bullion Coin Act in 1985, which stated that any gold used for these bullion coins must come from the United States, the Gold Eagle was introduced. Since then it has become one of the most popular bullion choices for investors of precious metals and seasoned coin collectors alike. American coinage has long featured imagery that encapsulates the United States' rich history, and this $10 Gold American Eagle Bullion is no different as it features the famous and widely used imagery of Lady Liberty and the bald eagle. 1/4 oz $10 Gold American Eagle Coin Highlights: Mint: U.S. Mint ¼ troy ounces Thickness: 1.83 mm Diameter: 22 mm Eligible for Precious Metals IRA Purity: 22 Karat Gold Face value of $10 Date Varies based on availability Augustus Saint- Gaudens is considered one of the most famous American coin designers. Personally chosen by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1905 to beautify the look of the country's coinage, his first designs appeared in 1907 on the $20 Gold Double Eagle. This is the same design as seen on this Gold American Eagle, depicting a full-length Lady Liberty surrounded by the sun's rays with the Capitol building at her feet. She holds a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left, a representation of peace. Gaudens' original design was updated three times in its history. Due to an act of Congress, the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" was added, and in 1912 the previous 46 stars depicted was increased to 48 to mark the addition of New Mexico and Arizona. Differing from the Gold Double Eagle, the American Gold Eagle was updated to feature 50 stars which recognized the addition of Hawaii and Alaska to the Union after World War II. The type 1 Gold American Eagle's reverse design comes instead from the monumental sculptor Miley Tucker-Frost. It portrays a male eagle clasping an olive branch as it flies above a nest with a female eagle and two hatchlings. A bald eagle is iconic as the national bird of the United States. The type 2 Gold American Eagle's reverse design features a close-up and personal perspective of our nation’s official bird. The intensity of the bald eagle’s stare and the detail in the feathering around the neck is striking. These $10 Gold American Eagle coins are the modern-day version of those that were used for everyday purchases in the 19th and early 20th century. Due to high demand from those looking to invest in their wealth, the U.S. Mint produces more of these coins every year in a number of different sizes including the 1/10 of an ounce ($5 face value), the 1/4 of an ounce ($10 face value), the 1/2 an ounce ($25 face value) and the one ounce ($50 face value). All of these sizes are guaranteed by the U.S. Government to contain the stated amount of actual gold weight in troy ounces. Why Invest in the 1/4 oz $10 Gold American Eagle coin? Despite their face value, the market value of these coins matches the market value of their gold content. This means that selling prices are based and vary depending on the price of gold. These coins are available for precious metals IRAs which makes them one of the easiest ways to invest in gold and are all available for purchase from the U.S. Gold Bureau website. *With the release of the 2021 type 2 version of the Gold American Eagle, designed by Jennie Norris, you may receive a reverse design type 1 (Miley Busiek) or type 2 (Jennie Norris) design based on our current inventory.*Coin SeriesEaglePurity22 KaratFace Value$10Mint Or RefineryU.S. MintMetal TypeGoldMordern Or HistoricalModernGradeRawYearVariesMetal Weight0.25 troy ozCertifiedBullion
