Description Vouvray Brut NV, Château Moncontour, Touraine, Loire, France Winemaker / Producer: Château Moncontour is a fairytale château perched on a limestone ridge above the river Loire in the appellation of Vouvray in the district of Touraine. The 130 hectares of clay and limestone vineyards are planted exclusively with Chenin Blanc. Vineyard & Winemaking: The Vouvray Brut is made by the traditional method of secondary fermentation in bottle and spends 14 months developing on the lees, building classic biscuity complexity and a refined, creamy mousse. Tasting Notes: A charming nose of dry honey and stone fruits is followed by a generous sparkling wine palate of honeyed apricot and peach flavours, beautifully balanced by refreshing acidity. A top drop! Food Pairing: Perfect as an aperitif or try with Brie with apricots or a classic Tarte Tatin.
